June 7, 2003, This is John chillin waitin on a channelcat bite!

Good mess of fish!
They may not be Flatheads but with the low water situation we are having here in East Texas, these nice Channelcat will have do until something bigger and better comes along.. I like to catch the big Flatheads but I am smart enough to change my fish and tactics when I know I will be wasting my time searching specifially for big Flatheads.. Besides the Channelcat are a lot of fun ..

Beautiful sunrise!
June8, 2003 You know the old saying, Red sky in the morning, Sailor take warning, well we shoulda listened! Now as for what happened, not much rain but man the wind got up seemed like thirty miles per hour! The ole barge took it in stride but the spots we caught cats yesterday did not produce anything, we finally went back down the lake and drift fished in 15 feet of water and caught some real nice ones..Only thing they were hitting was shrimp..I did'nt count how many we had but in the pic below, that is a 100 quart cooler they are in, as for size, see my boots in the pic! Someone stole John's fish cooler from his house last night so we had to put fish in the big one..

Nice catch!
July12, 2003 Check out this sunrise this morning!

July12, 2003 Rachael and I wore em out again today, They were biting the vanilla shrimp in about 8 feet of water. We were using slip corks instead of fishing on the bottom. The Channels have finished the spawn now and are hungry..

Nice catch!
July13, 2003 We had a great day today, took out my friend Manny and his two boys Tommie and Dylan. The boys had a blast, it was non stop action from the gitgo! We filled Manny's 100 quart cooler to the top, probably around 75 fish, nice ones at that! Below is Manny's son Tommie driving the toon out to the fishin hole!
