Starrlette's Big Catch! (2004)
Starrlette

I thought this would be a pretty funny fishin' story for ya...I took my daughter fishin' last summer out behind my brothers place at Lk. Tawakoni. He just so happens to have a feeder creek that runs right behind his house and the water was down low during the summer-time so I knew the bream were in there spawning. We dug up some earthworms for a half-hour or so, then hit the creek. From the get-go she was just pulling 'em in, then she happened to snag a little bream right in the back, so I asked her, "Starrlette are you catching those fish, or fishing with 'em?". So she replies, "I'm fishin' with 'em" and throws that lil' bugger in the water. Next thing I know there's a huge swirl in the water near her bobber, and I yelled, "Get ready you're about to get a big one!" So her bobber turns completely upside-down, then just takes off underwater. She landed this largemouth all by herself...Man that must've been one of the proudest days of my life, we had a blast! ~Tracy Petton

This is a picture of my son Dylan after we returned from his very first fishing trip (June 97), he was four at the time. He hadn't learned to cast yet but boy could he reel them in. He caught both within an hour of each other. The first was caught within 5 minutes on the very first cast of the morning just after dawn. I took him (and still do) to the Occoquan Resevoir on the border of Prince William Co and Fairfax Co. VA, the same resevoir I caught my first cat. I am very proud of him and it brings back lots of great memories. Ward McCormack Woodbridge, VA
